Radical Islamists arming their selves in Balkans
Radical Islam is again in headlines thanks for recent attack in Mumbai. Already during battle discussion had started about foreign connections of terrorists. Besides Pakistan also British and Bosnian connections were mentioned. The question is mostly related to Muslim immigrants living in West. As far as Bosnia or western Balkans is concerned the core problem is created after mid-90s when region started to transform to safe haven for radical Islam.
Background
In my article “Radical islamist network spreading in Balkans” (28/09/2008) I summarized that
Radical Islam has enforced and widened their activities in Balkans last 15 years. During Bosnian war many foreign Islamists came to fight in mujahedeen brigade also many Al Quida figures - including Osama bin Laden - were supporting Bosnian Muslims 1990's. Later they gave their support to KLA/UCK (Kosovo) which leaders now are leading Kosovo province based on US and EU support. After bombing campaign 1999 radical Islam has been one major donor in Kosovo and Wahhabi schools and former secularized Kosovo Muslims are displaced by radical Islamic movement. During Balkan wars e.g. Bosnia was acting as Europe’s leading training camp for domestic and foreign Islamists and their supporters. So it is easy to see the real or exaggerated connections between Britain, Bosnia and Afghanistan/Pakistan.
British-Pakistan connection
In an article of one British publication(Telegraph.co.uk 29/11/2008) is a pithy description over Brit-Paki way to Radicalism.
The path from Britain to the terror training camps of Pakistan is a well-trodden one, with dozens of young Muslim extremists from this country travelling abroad to learn their deadly trade. In most cases they make the journey after being radicalised by preachers in Britain, who tell them that Islam is under attack around the world and that they cannot stand by idly or simply raise money for the cause. Some claim they only wanted to fight against the enemy in Kashmir or Afghanistan, or to learn how to defend fellow Muslims in other warzones such as Bosnia or Chechnya.
Radical Islamists arming their selves in Bosnia
Western Balkans is known as junction of different kind of trafficking. Biggest profits probably are coming from drugs arriving from Afghanistan to be distributed in EU area. Related to issue of terrorism the arms trafficking is now alarming not only because their selling in EU but because their planned use in Europe by radicals.
Last week an article in Serbianna (24/1/208) gave more light to topic. A group of radical Islamists that is ready to engage in terror activities is based in Bosnia, says Bosnia's police chief Zlatko Miletic. "Wahabis have become the synonym for that sort of terrorism, but here is matter is about salafis as well," says Miletic. He continues that 4 different groups operate in Bosnia, all of interest, because of their views of the world. Most concerning, says Miletic, is that these groups are buying suicide vests adding that early in 2008, Wahabis and other groups sympathetic to al-Qaeda are moving large quantities of explosives and weapons to Croatia. Islamic terrorists believe that Croatia will soon become a member of the EU which would allow an unimpeded weapons transfer from Croatia and into Europe.
Wahabi trial in Serbia
At the regional conference on security held in October in Slovenia's city of Kranj, Serbia's security minister Ivica Dacic stressed that there is evidence of presence of the international and domestic terrorism in Serbia citing Albanian terrorism in the south and the influence of Wahabis in the Raska area, referred to as Sandjak by the Muslims. End of November 2008, a trial of 15 Wahabis started after Serbia's police broke up the group involved in a plot to bomb buildings across Serbia and the US Embassy in Belgrade. One of the Wahabis, Ismail Prentic, escaped to Kosovo where local Albanians gave him sanctuary. Prentic was later apprehended but died in a shoot out with the police. According sources the Wahabis secretly train, mobilize, inspire and train recruits from the converts to be experts in explosives.
The prosecution at the trial of 15 Wahabis charged that they have plotted terrorism has shown Osama bin Laden videos that have been found on the laptop confiscated during a raid on the Wahabi camp earlier this year. Many security analyst note that al Zawahiri’s (probably N:o 2. in al-Qaeda) brother was dispatched to the Balkans to establish al-Qaeda cells in regions dominated by Muslims such as Bosnia and Raska and Kosovo regions in Serbia. (Source Serbianna 29/11/2008)
Croats in Bosnia under attack
In my article “Islamic terror in Bosnia” (13/10/2008) I described how a Croatian NGO Libertas made public statement in which it says that Croatians in Bosnia are victims of Bosnian Muslim terror and are asking Bosnian Croat political leadership to initiate a plan that will break up the Bosnian Federation entity and form a Croatian one.
The tensions have continued since October. E.g. police in Mostar, Bosnia-Herzegovina, are still on alert, although eight days have passed since Muslim and Croat students engaged in a fierce clash.Five days ago, local police prevented a mass free-for-all of some 300 students. The date and time for the fight was set in advance via an internet portal, and was to take place between Croat and Muslim youths on the line which divides the town of Mostar to its eastern and western parts. (Source B92 29/11/2008)
Bottom line
The Wahabism is "alien" not only to Bosnia and Kosovo but in the entire south-eastern Europe, where secularism has been common until last decade. The issues of Wahabism could quickly disturb the harmony of the Kosovo Albanian patriarchal family structure dominated by honor and vendettas.
The Radical Islam is relatively new phenomenon in Balkans. It has good connections to other relevant players on scene and motivation enough to die for their case. Is it now with more arms progressing on new more aggressive stage shall be seen.

It's time the world got rid of Islam extremists. This will be a very difficult task as even the Muslims which appear moderate could be hiding their true feelings in countries where they are outnumbered.
When the US realizes that Russia is not their enemy but Islam is then we'll see some progress espcially in the Balkans. They should start to support the Christians in the Balkans instead of the Muslims.
The day is coming when America and Britain will have no choice but to abandon their love for Islam and support Christian Europe instead.
@AriRusila:You source of information"serbianna"tells me everything about you, sir. It's very easy to copy articles from websites and just add some more BS stuff on top of it.Religion wasn't and will never be an issue in Albania or Kosovo, that's a fact(i don't know/i don't care about Bosnia). My advise to you is :change your source of information, visit some other websites you may have better chances to become a wannabe journalist. Are you a Serb or Russian? No hard feelings
@peggy:I think the most dangerous, destabilising and religion extremist in Europe is your country-serbia,your church supported all 4 wars in ex-Yugo.Wake up,did you notice that we live in year 2008/09,come out of your cave get civilised,it's about time you nation become educated and realize what they did in:Slovenia,Croatia,Bosnia and Kosova. We don't need your apology, all we ask for is become human.I know being serb and become a human being is not easy task,at least try it.I understand you for being so upset and hateful with your comments, there is nothing worse then being a serb.
#1 Peggy: Dream on. The U.S. is already controlled by Islamics, and we're going to have Hillary in charge of our Wahabist State Dept. Certainly, Britain is not about to push Christianity when, under Rothschild control, it has long been its prime enemy.
#2 Stupid Albanian, can't even find Finland on a map.
#3 Another stupid Albanian: if there's nothing worse than being a Serb, then why are so many of your butts in Serbia?
Get out!!!
I live in Bosnia... there is no certain thruth in your article .. you are also not being specific.. you quote Serbian juarnals which by the attacks on extremists in Bosnia want to justify genocide in Bosnia.... Zlatko Miletic is Serb and if you try to find something about him wont be surprised if you find his involvement in genocide over Bosnian Muslims...
Yes there are groups like that. However Bosnian intellegence agencies and American ones know about them. Bosnia is not sovereign country also. Presence of NATO and EUPM shows that they are also guilty by not supressing them.
somebody is having profit from existence of those groups... I certainly dislike them and I think that in one day they can be jailed if international community wants so...

Yes, Albanian, when you quit destroying Christian churches in Kosovo-- what's been, 150+ destroyed by you and yours in the last 9 years?-- then you can talk about religion not being "a factor". Until then, quit asking the world to turn a blind eye to your actions!
to Cimona
when you say Albanian you must note that In Albania there are certain percentage of Christians who call themselves as ALBANIANS.
Their nationality is Albanian and they enjoy, equally, all rights in Albania.
And about those churches... In Bosnia I never heard anything about them being destroyed. However interesting fact during the war was that Muslims didn't ruin any church while Catholics and Orthodoxs were ruining each other's churches... one of them is ruined in Mostar another in Bugojno... strange ... And albanians are ones who managed to connect 3 religions under one tradition and nationality...
To Abanian about "Religion wasn't and will never be an issue in Albania or Kosovo, that's a fact"
This time I do not cite "Serbianna". Instead you may find an article "Wahhabism tightening grip over Kosovo,
Ahtisaari’s plan for independence may help terrorism flourish" from the European weekly "New Europe" interesting. You may find it from address: http://www.neurope.eu/articles/7832...
You poor Servians missed the boat. Your new propaganda wave, no doubt led by a private firm based on K street, is a joke and will succeed in accomplishing nothing more than augmenting the coffers of another pr company willing to meddle in foreign affairs with a moral compass that always points towards themselves.
Albanians such as myself do not require and are not open to lessons in morality from unrepentant Serbian nationalists and fanatical Orthodox militants, the only fanatical religion in the Balkans.
I also do not know much about the Bosnian situation, but I can say one thing for sure, if one is to publish an article each time a pocket of crazies is found in any of our nations, the internet would be inundated by even more useless content.
Finally, I offer a real reference for those who are interested in understanding why everyone, even Montenegro, wanted to get as far away from Serbia as possible:

Today, the only nations that support Serbia are those that either wish to continue to oppress their own minority groups, or possess no democratic orientation to speak of and therefore simply wish to support the principal of non-interference, or both. (China, Russia, Romania, Spain)
With its continued intransigence and medieval games, Serbia continues its meteoric rise to the status of most deluded and least honorable culture in recent European history. Even Germany was more repentant after WWII.
As a Croat I want to stress the fact to my Croatian brothers and sisters in Croatia to fight for your right to seperate from Bosnia and Join Croatia.
There is no future in Bosnia. There is just muslim terror on the horizon.
Arm yourselves and be prepared.
Za Dom Spremni!!!
The governments in the west do not represent their people.
They are a cabal of one worlders. They only see profit and nothing else matters. Bosnia will soon become an arab/turkish colony. Muslim men looking for adventure will settle their looking for beautiful Dinaric women to rape and
take advantage of. Look at the rapes that happen in Western Europe by them while germanic men stand by with helpless looks on their faces. It is predicted that Western Europe will become a muslim colony in 50 years.
Do you think the Serbs would let this happen? I think not!!
Croatians wake up
I am greek and support Serb warriors against their wars to the Turks. Croats are bad Gothic catholics. Croats are a german satellite state. In Greece we have many Albanains who are only good for crime and bakery work.
Himmler said croats are a Gothic/Persian people and will become german again. This is history fact. Croats impressed Hitler with all their killing. They also were better soliders than the SS. The croats was given special permission to enter Stalingrad during the battle as a honor by the germans.
During Yugo war germany sent secret arms shipments to croats as a favor for an old debt.
To Albanian about his comment "Religion wasn't and will never be an issue in Albania or Kosovo, that's a fact". HERE IS A POSTING YOU DID NOT ALLOW ON THE ORGAN HARVESTING ALLEGATIONS:
This is yet another attempt by Serbian propagandists to diminish the enormity of crimes committed by Serbian forces against Croatians, Bosnians and Kosovars during a period of Orthodox Terror perpetrated by extreme Serbian Nationalists.
As an Albanian, I don't deny the possibility that during the ugliest parts of the war of liberation against Serbia, some atrocities were committed by rebel forces and/or extreme nationalists on the Albanian side. However, clearly, Serbian propagandists have seized on what is still an allegation that involves up to 300 individuals, and attempted to bring about a public verdict of guilty, thereby setting the foundation for a Moral Equivalency argument which simply cannot hold water in a region whose mass graves dug by Serbian shovels seem as much a part of our landscape as our groves of Pear Trees.
Furthermore, it is quite amazing how the Serbian side omits from every discussion, several critical points that are required, in order to set the proper context for the development of an armed rebel movement in Kosova.
First, and perhaps the most revealing, is the decision taken by Slobodan Milosevic in the first year of coming to power, in which he completely rescinded the autonomy within the republic of Serbia enjoyed by Kosovars since the time of its implementation by a clearly prescient Tito many decades earlier. Slobodan Milosevic then implemented direct rule from Belgrade. This meant that all institutions, including education, health and basic local government, were to be replaced by a counsel of militant nationalists based in Belgrade who would give direct orders banning Albanian language in schools, firing all ethnic Albanians from state jobs in Kosova and commanding a massive ramp up of military presence and abuses by Serbian soldiers who suddenly occupied every other block in Kosova with tanks and armed men. Albanians, whose lives were made more miserable by the day, were increasingly encouraged to leave Kosova entirely and "return to your savage animal Albania".
Second, is the subsequent 10-year non-violent struggle led by the most respected of Albanian Kosovar leaders, Ibrahim Rugova, initially requesting merely that the autonomous status enjoyed under Tito be re-instituted. As intimidation, arrests and terror became the order of the day, and the tone of the new Serb Nationalism and fanatical Orthodox Militancy became clear, Albanians became increasingly restless and soon demanded equal republic status within Jugoslavia, in order to defend against future terror. The vast majority of Albanians in Kosova would have been satisfied with a return to Autonomy, perhaps expanded to prevent national direct rule.
The world hardly noticed or cared about our 10 year non-violent movement. No one came to our aid. And soon Albanians realized that freedom would have to be taken into their own hands, a physical struggle was inevitable. So one day, tired of constant intimidation and total impunity enjoyed by Serbian military forces, a couple of Albanian brothers picked up some guns and wiped out a local Serbian police station. Thusly began our freedom struggle, like those of so many others around the world.
As a final note, let me just make one comment regarding the new allegations of organ harvesting of 300 Serb soldiers by Albanians. Based on evidence from past allegations made by Serbian nationalists against Croats, Bosnians and Kosovar Albanians, one would expect the actual number, if there is any truth at all to these allegations, to be reduced to somewhere between 0 and 30 individuals. We Albanians refer to this as the "Serbian Apologist Algorithm" which sets out to prove that Serbians are the greatest victims of the most recent Balkan War.
Perhaps, in some sort of ironic way, they are correct about being the greatest victims of this whole process.
Wahabism in Kosova! ha ha... you guys are not only shameless propagandists, but you you can't even frame your propganda within known historical parameters. The fact is that Islam in Albania and Kosova derive mostly from the Bektashi (Sufi) branch, by far the most moderate and spiritual of all islamic sects. In other words, the precise opposite of Wahibism. It is for this reason that despite decades of barbarism and intolerance emanating from our militant Orthodox neighbors, Albania has never had any religious turmoil and today boasts citizens of all religious persuasions, including muslims, orthodox christians (the moderate albanian variety, deriving from Fan Noli, the Harvard educated founder of the Autocephelous Albanian Orthodox Church), catholics, jews, polytheists, agnostics and atheists.
We in Albania have a completely different orientation from our Serbian neighbors. We put our ancient heritage first and our religious beliefs second. As a result, all of our communities socialize, hang out together, celebrate one another's holidays and intermarry quite frequently. This is already well documented and accepted in the U.S. and the important Western capitols, London, Paris, Rome and Berlin.

Ari, stick that pretentious pipe in your ass you Servian apologist and Russian ass kisser.
Don't fuk with un-slavicized Illyrians, we are the real deal.
To 12 & 13.
Having read your comments it was sad to find out that you did not found a one argument which could show that some of my arguments is wrong. Sad because opposing arguments, not blind fanaticism, could help to create more comprehensive picture of events or issue.
Ari, your article reveals that you are interested in resurrecting the badly damaged image of the Southern Slavs. This is a noble desire on your part, and I cannot fault you for wishing that the focus of attention might shift to the future rather than remaining fixed on impossible Balkan debates about ancient rights to this or that valley or hill. There is much that Serbia can contribute to Europe going forward.
What I do find objectionable is the manner in which you respond to comments posted by others from your region, namely Albanians, Bosnians and Croatians.
Perhaps the first step forward toward reconciliation must begin with some Serbian admission of guilt. I do not refer to collective punishment here, by no means. What I wish to suggest here is the occasional inclusion of criticism of the time of Milosevic in your articles and comments.
Perhaps this act, more than any other, might help to foster new trust and begin the long repentance and healing process that so desperately needs to occur between Serbia and its neighbors.
I wish you well, however I worry about the persistence of denial in the Serbian mentality. Be the warrior for peace, lead by example friend.
To "triangle mystery".
I did not exactly understand why you are critical to my response to comments posted by others. With this topic I have made two comments before this: in first I gave a link to other article and in second I was missing opposite arguments. What is wrong with these replies. Should I respond to e.g. no 13 same manner than he made comment about me?
You were wishing that I could include some criticism of Milosevic time in my articles. I have not done this because from my point of view there is nothing new I could say. I do not like many aspects of politics during Milosevic time time nor I do not want to defend his or his wife's policy. I also agree that under his direct or indirect command brutalities were made and he allowed paramilitary units make war crimes in Croatia, Bosnia and Kosovo as well mistreated the major population in Serbia. But as said these events are well documented without my contribution.
The important issue you mentioned was the healing process needed between Serbia and its neighbors. I would like to see a truth commission to take place in Balkans e.g in each conflict region. It could clarify events more than trials.
I wish you well also, thanks for your constructive approach.
egocentrisim from Ari...
"Having read your comments it was sad to find out that you did not found a one argument which could show that some of my arguments is wrong. Sad because opposing arguments, not blind fanaticism, could help to create more comprehensive picture of events or issue."
You didin't try to search for convincing arguments and your sources are not good. Discussion with you on this topic is pretty stupid after all.
Bosnian case, you don't have right to state all those things. you don't know about Bosnia. For example:
Head of police who gave press conference shouldn't give it. It is not his job. He must report that to ministry and ministry should give those announcements. Thats how it goes in each country.
However, When you have Serb head of Police then he can make statements which he shouldn't.
Just to remind you. Milorad Dodik, leader of Bosnian Serbs controls Republika Srpska. He even established para-inteligence agency named Alpha. He arms the police of Republika Srpska. That needs to be questioned. Not few wahabiis which pray in a different way. Sarajevo is small town government can arrest all of wahabiis in 1 day. If international community want so. Don't forget that we are not sovereign country.
You must also search facts for Kosovo and Albania more properly.

To Emin.
1) My comment you quote was to 12 & 13, not others, Maybe relocating my pipe is egocentrism - the comment 13 was quite personal ne too
2) I have every right to discuss different topics, it is called free speech in old democracies,
3) I do not care if head of police have right according protocol to have press conference, I was interested what he said, btw you did not made any counter argument about his remarks
4) Probably you are right about Republica Srpska, it correlates what I earlier have wrote about collapsing of BiH
5) Do you have list about ountries where I have been and where not?
When Kosovars are finished with american soldiers we will spread through the country and slowly take serbia. Islam is te way and we will have the world. we in england and france, those churches in kosovo will be mosque.
My family killed many serb and family, and now we farm that land. we have always owned kosovo, serb army left blood and we fought back.
america is serving the purpose and they a tool for our efforts, kosovo will be that example
To egocentric one,
2) I have every right to discuss different topics, it is called free speech in old democracies,
dear Ari Rise of Serbian nationalim is happening again. And now it is influencing Bosnia too much. Night before bayram mosque is being burnt in Republika Srpska.
Making statements and arguments that can help this evil ideology (shown by genocide in Srebrenica, Ethnic clensing of Republika Srpska and mass murderings all around Bosnia in period 92-95) doesn't make you Ainstein. There are some wahabiis. (democracy - have right to live here... even i don't like them). But Serbs are also used to use them to show how Muslims in Bosnia are wahabiis and extremists.
Since war on terorism is "war on radical islam" (H. Kissinger, 2008) propaganda regime wants connect those two things...
All that I stated I can send you on e-mail. Please send me one mail to me to be able to send you some of articles... really important ones...
