500.000 bodies or sign

Some of you may have been reading my earlier column "Do you hear Mr. Nobel rolling in his grave?" on 12th Oct.2008 (here). Now I was reading a shocking column by Dr. Jan Oberg, who is co-founder of Transnational Foundation for Peace and Future Research. The headline "Peace Laureate Ahtisaari endorsed terrorism" of his column tells quite a lot. One of the main points highlights Ahtisaari's mediator tactics when he is threatening President Milosevic that those whom Ahtisaari represented were willing to flatten Belgrade and to kill 500.000 people in a week unless President Milosevic does not sign his offer.
I really recommend you read this analytical article yourself. It can be found from here. If link does not open so copy/paste following address: http://www.transnational.org/Resources_Treasures/2008/Oberg_Ahtisaari_2.html

I am very puzzled of Ahtisaari's peace prize but nevertheless, I can't - without better proof - swallow Jan Oberg's quotation of the discussion that took place in Milosevic's office in 1999, especially of Ahtisaari's threat about bombing Belgrade. This is what Milosevic has told, no more than that. No more believable than that. I need someone else to verify what actually happened. Before that we can consider the quotation being rubbish.
I do not like Ahtisaari's acting as "peace negotiator" but only idiots believe Balkan hearsay. And doing so they discredit any criticism against "peace talks".
I am actually very surprised if Serbia's secret service didn't manage to sound record the meeting. That kind of work is normal to them as salting french fries. I'm sure Belgrade is happy to play that tape to any investigating journalist who finds his/her way to the city. Planes to Belgrade are leaving every day.
Waiting for to hear some news!
